Frequently asked questions
No. We have opted out of all private insurance and Medicare contracts. This is an intentional decision that allows us to prioritize your care over administrative requirements. You may file for reimbursement with most private insurers using the superbill and chart notes we provide. Medicare patients must sign a CMS Opt-Out waiver. Visit fees are paid directly at time of service.
Yes. We treat many types of cancer using the Cancer Care protocols established by the IMA (formerly FLCCC), supplemented by Dr. Saleeby’s extensive knowledge of CAM-based cancer therapies. We co-manage patients alongside oncologists who are open to integrative approaches, and refer to specialized centers as appropriate.
Dr. Saleeby is ILADS-trained and was personally precepted by Dr. Richard Horowitz — one of the most respected Lyme specialists in the world. He follows ILADS treatment guidelines as a foundation, but Lyme disease (more accurately MSIDS — Multiple Systemic Infectious Disease Syndrome) is extremely complex and requires fully individualized treatment. No two Lyme patients at CHM follow the same protocol. We are a recognized Lyme Literate Medical practice (LLMD) and have achieved results where other centers have not.
The primary difference is cost. Dr. Saleeby personally trains every advanced provider through the Priority Health Academy and consults on and signs off on all new patient care plans. Providers meet bi-weekly to discuss complex cases, and CHM maintains a high standard of communication across the clinical team. Whether you see Dr. Saleeby or one of our advanced providers, your care is grounded in the same clinical philosophy and held to the same standard of excellence. CHM is recognized as a center of excellence in the integrative and functional medicine community.
Yes — and we have since 2013, well before it became standard practice. We have refined our telehealth platform over more than a decade and offer the full range of our services remotely to patients across the country.
We offer a full spectrum of care — from traditional allopathic medicine to Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) to fully functional and holistic protocols. Our providers are all Certified Tribal Practitioners (CTP) with the FNMB. We are considered Super-Generalists and take on most subspecialties. Key focus areas include hormone balance (thyroid and gonadal), Lyme disease and tick-borne illness, neuroinflammation, COVID-related disorders, mold illness, EMF sensitivity, food allergy and sensitivities, dysbiosis and leaky gut, heavy metal and environmental toxicity, preventive medicine, peptides, and bespoke therapies. We also maintain a wide referral network of holistic practitioners including chiropractors, TCM/acupuncture, energy medicine, holistic psychiatry and cardiology, and spiritual healers.
Generally yes, for patients above the age of eight. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for younger children.
Yes, when appropriate. Our prescribing list is intentionally limited to safe, effective medications. We avoid toxic or unnecessary drugs and actively work to help patients reduce polypharmacy — including both pharmaceutical medications and nutraceutical supplements — using careful, supervised tapering protocols.
We do not offer these therapies on-site at this time. However, CHM has a network of affiliated offices that do provide these services, and we are happy to facilitate referrals.
Call (800) 965-8482, email info@carolinaholisticmedicine.com, or request an appointment online. New patients will receive a detailed information package outlining available options. A $200 deposit is required at the time of scheduling.
