Chris Jackman brings a clinical background that is anything but conventional — and that depth of experience is exactly what makes him exceptional at functional medicine.
Chris began his medical career as a Registered Nurse in a Surgical ICU in Cleveland, Ohio, where he spent two years caring for the most critically ill post-surgical patients. He then transitioned into the operating room, where he spent nearly a decade as an RN — developing a particular passion for cardiac surgery and working closely with surgical teams at the highest level.
After earning his Nurse Practitioner degree, Chris joined the Cleveland Clinic, where he worked both in the OR assisting in open-heart and thoracic surgeries and in post-operative and post-discharge patient care.
TRANSITION TO FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE
After making a family decision to relocate from Cleveland to Charleston, SC, Chris made a deliberate choice not to continue practicing within the constraints of conventional Western medicine. He believed — and still believes — that functional medicine offers a fundamentally better path for patients with complex, chronic conditions. He connected with Dr. Saleeby, entered the Priority Health Academy, and spent several years becoming one of the most well-rounded functional providers in the practice.
In 2022, Chris joined Carolina Holistic Medicine as a full-time provider at the Mt. Pleasant office. He has since been named Chief Operating Officer and Lead Provider at CHM, and sees patients both in-office and via telemedicine for out-of-state patients. In 2025, he was inducted into the Marquis Who’s Who as an honored listee provider — a recognition of his clinical expertise and impact.

His background in critical care and cardiac surgery gives him a precision and rigor that translates powerfully into functional medicine — where complexity is the norm and thoroughness matters.
